Mercedes Benz GLE Class Overview

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is a luxury SUV offered by the German carmaker in India which is based on the previous generation E-Class. It is powered by one petrol engine and two diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2,996 cc unit that generates 333 hp of power at 5,250 rpm and 480 Nm of torque from 1,600.x` It is mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission. The smaller diesel engine is a 2,143 cc unit that produces 204 hp of power at 3,800 rpm and 500 Nm of torque.

This motor is mated to the 9G-Tronic 9 speed automatic gearbox. The larger diesel engine generates 258 hp of power at 3,400 rpm and 620 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm. This engine is also paired 9G-Tronic 9 speed automatic transmission. It measures 4,819 mm in length, 2,141 mm in width, 1,796 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,915 mm. Mercedes Benz GLE Class Exteriors

Apart from the change in badging, this mid-life facelifted model gets a few cosmetic changes even if the size of the SUV remains the same as the outgoing M-Class. The fascia makes it clear in the first glance that the changes are in line with Mercedes-Benz’s latest design language. The grille and the pinned-back headlights remind you of the other new siblings with a similar front. However, the tall bonnet with sharp lines have retained the aggressive stance of the SUV. The headlamps with projectors also house the daylight running lamps (DRLs) forming the eyebrows like in other models.

The silhouette looks similar to the one of the previous car, not really something that needed any improvement. However, what has pleased me are the changes at the back which have given the GLE a better look. The wraparound tail lamps are redesigned with LEDs and look sleeker than the ones on the previous model. Adding further to the appeal is the re-profiled bumper set with dual exhaust tips. The chrome scuff plates have been retained to protect the paint from being chipped off in case big heavy bags are being loaded. The typical ML styling cues are still retained by the signature wraparound rear-quarter window behind the C-pillar

Mercedes Benz GLE Class Interiors

Just like the exterior the interior too has received significant amount of changes. Step inside and the first thing that will catch you attention is the huge media display screen that has been partially integrated into the dashboard while the air con vents are surrounded by the silver shadow surround. While take a look around the cabin and you will also notice that the central console also houses the controller for the Mercedes COMMAND system which by the way also gets a touchpad.

Mercedes has also offered new colors for the interior while there are plenty of choices of colors to choose from for the interior. When it comes to fit and finish and quality of the materials inside nobody can actually complain anything because they look perfect from every angle. The steering wheel itself looks far sportier and stylish. When it comes to interior space and comfort everything including the space offered seems identical to the already available M Class. The seats too look comfortable and supportive. The rear seat too offers comfortable seating for three because of the flat floor.

Mercedes Benz GLE Class Performance

Mercedes is offering GLE 250d and 350d variants in India, yes, the ‘CDI’ moniker too has been replaced with ‘d’ for the diesel models. The 250d gets a 2.1-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 204 BHP and 500 Nm. We drove the GLE 350d which gets a 3.0-litre V6 diesel mill that churns out 258 BHP and 620 Nm. The GLE moves with a smooth and linear progress initially and once past the mid-range, it pulls like whoosh! Refinement is at its best, no diesel clatter at lower revs and near the redline the 6-pot oil burner sounds a bit sporty. There is a wee bit of turbo lag but the meaty mid-range is what makes the GLE feel like it has wings, strong yet effortless acceleration.

Finally the 7G-TRONIC transmission has been replaced by a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox, which is lighter, more fuel efficient and highly responsive than the former. The gears are stacked closely and hence gear changes are brisk, no more do you feel the power dip while changing the cogs. The steering mounted paddle shifts are now more fun to use since you get the right gear at the right time. The 9-speed transmission is quite active for multiple downshifts and also offers relaxed cruising ability. The engine spins at just 1150 RPM at 100 km/hr in ninth gear.

The intelligent DYNAMIC SELECT system gives you a choice of five modes – Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-Road. This system changes parameters of the engine, transmission, steering and suspension. In Comfort, the throttle response is subdued while the gears change early for a smooth drive and in Sport, it’s the opposite to extract the max out of the engine and transmission which shifts near the 4500 RPM redline. You can tweak each aspect individually with the ‘Individual’ mode. The system can also adapt to your driving style and tweak the mechanicals accordingly. Mercedes Benz GLE Class Riding

This a good old school design SUV with hosts of modern features. All three models are 4matic and this indeed works very well. There is a special feature about the 4matic. After a speed of 120 km/h the individual power to all 4 wheels gets cut off ait is same power to each wheel. This helps providing more traction and less chance of failure. Because of the weight and soft suspension there is a slight understeer at high speed corners.

On the bright side the GLE has an amazingly plush ride. The seats are soft and the bumps do not filter into the cabin especially to the people. There is enough boot place to carry half a house if shifting and the 2nd row seats go completely flat and can be use as a double bed. Thank god for the new 9G-tronic. It eliminates all the flaws of the 7G-Tronic and is way less jerky. Also the gear shift time has reduced drastically. And incase you do want a little fun you have paddle shifts to get into formula one mode.

Mercedes Benz GLE Class Safety

.Standard safety features on the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, a forward collision warning system, Pre-Safe (which can identify an imminent crash and automatically take measures to secure occupants), a rearview camera, hill start assist, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag. The Mbrace telematics system includes automatic collision notification, emergency assistance, stolen vehicle location, geo-fencing, alarm notification and remote door lock/unlock. The GLE also comes standard with Attention Assist, which monitors driver behavior for signs of drowsiness.

Other available safety technology includes forward collision warning with automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring and intervention, and a lane departure warning and intervention system.

Mercedes Benz GLE Class Summing Up

This is a vehicle that has a very clear positive verdict, with its enthralling design, its expensive interiors, its powerful engine and a range of rarely seen before comfort features. But you’ve got to take into accord its phenomenal price tag, something that would alone, make up for much of the plush points. At the end of the day, this is a car that represents the very cream of the cake, so if you’re the type that will shell out as much as possible to have the perfect ride, this is the model you should go for

What Are The Importance Of Educational Measurement, Assessment & Evaluation

Educational Evaluations in US

As teachers become more familiar with data-driven instruction, they are making decisions about what and how they teach based on the information gathered from their students. In other words, teachers first find out what their students know and what they do not know, and then determine how best to bridge that gap.

How Are Measurement, Assessment and Evaluation Different?

During the process of gathering information for effective planning and instruction, the words measurement, assessment and evaluation are often used interchangeably. These words, however, have significantly different meanings. For Educational Evaluations in US visit UT Evaluators.

Measurement

The word measurement, as it applies to education, is not substantially different from when it is used in any other field. It simply means determining the attributes or dimensions of an object, skill or knowledge. We use common objects in the physical world to measure, such as tape measures, scales and meters. These measurement tools are held to standards and can be used to obtain reliable results. When used properly, they accurately gather data for educators and administrators.

Some standard measurements in education are raw scores, percentile ranks and standard scores.

Assessment

One of the primary measurement tools in education is the assessment. Teachers gather information by giving tests, conducting interviews and monitoring behavior. The assessment should be carefully prepared and administered to ensure its reliability and validity. In other words, an assessment must provide consistent results and it must measure what it claims to measure.

Evaluation

Creating valid and reliable assessments is critical to accurately measuring educational data. Evaluating the information gathered, however, is equally important to the effective use of the information for instruction.

In education, evaluation is the process of using the measurements gathered in the assessments. Teachers use this information to judge the relationship between what was intended by the instruction and what was learned. They evaluate the information gathered to determine what students know and understand, how far they have progressed and how fast, and how their scores and progress compare to those of other students.

Why Are Measurement, Assessment and Evaluation Important in Education?

According to educator and author, Graham Nuthall, in his book The Hidden Lives of Learners, “In most of the classrooms we have studied, each student already knows about 40-50% of what the teacher is teaching.” The goal of data-driven instruction is to avoid teaching students what they already know and teach what they do not know in a way the students will best respond to. To know more info on Educational Evaluations check Painpeters

For the same reason, educators and administrators understand that assessing students and evaluating the results must be ongoing and frequent. Scheduled assessments are important to the process, but teachers must also be prepared to re-assess students, even if informally, when they sense students are either bored with the daily lesson or frustrated by material they are not prepared for.

Using the measurements of these intermittent formative assessments, teachers can fine-tune instruction to meet the needs of their students on a daily and weekly basis.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Overview

The Maruti Dzire 2018 is the best selling car in the country. The compact sedan selles more than any hatchback and has also beaten the Maruti Alto. In April, the Dzire sold 25,935 units, which is higher than 21,233 of the Maruti Alto. The Dzire still has a waiting period, though the production has gone up. Such is the demand for the car that the company is finding it hard to meet. The Dzire has always been the highest selling compact sedan. Despite competition from other manufacturers, this has been the favourite. The Honda Amaze will be launched soon and provide good competition to the Dzire. However it is to be seen if it can come close to its sales numbers.

The new Dzire is now much more premium than the earlier model. It is a much improved car as of now. It is now wider than before due to the new platform. This has also resulted in superior handing, ride and also space management. There are multiple variant option to choose from as well, making the Dzire 2018 as complete car. This is a reason why it has been selling in very high numbers. Check for Maruti Dzire price in Ahmedabad at Tryaldrive.

The Heartect platform is a new platform and this underpins the Dzire. The same platform is found on the Baleno also. It gets a longer wheelbase by about 20mm. The width has also increased. Teh design is now more matured than the earlier model. The new Dzire now look well-balanced and also more proportionate than before. The styling is a head turner and commands good road presence. For the first time it gets 15-inch wheels as well.

The engines on offer are the same. They are the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel. Both these engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission and also have AMT options. Both engines have good performance and are fuel efficient. As the new DZire is now lighter by upto 120 kilograms, it makes it an even better package than before. This means an improvement in performance and even mileage.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Design

The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on the next generation Swift that should come to India by the end of FY 2017-18. However it’s only the front that it borrows from the hatchback, and of course, the platform as well. Unlike the previous generations, the new Dzire is a completely different car from the new Swift A-pillar onwards. Also Read – Maruti Suzuki Dzire vs Baleno vs Brezza

The countenance is purposeful with muscle at the right places on the bonnet and the wheel arches. The hexagonal front grille is also short and wide, and it all adds to make the Dzire look broad. Chrome work is generous on the front grille, below the fog lamp housing and even in the headlamp unit, but it doesn’t look overdone. In fact, the quality of chrome is so good that it would match the finish on cars twice its price. Unfortunately, Maruti Suzuki offers LED projectors and DRLs on the top ZXi+ variant only, so the lower variants get reflector headlamp units that tone down the aggression a bit

The muscle on the bonnet is carried on to the front fender and a sharp shoulder line weaves through from the front to the rear. A pinched character line at the lower end breaks the monotony of what would otherwise be a plain design. The A-pillar onwards, the Dzire looks more sedan-like in profile with the roof flowing from the A-pillar to the C-pillar smoothly. The proportions are better too, as Maruti Suzuki has increased the width by 40mm and reduced the roof height by 40mm. However, the ground clearance is reduced only by by 7mm, down to 163mm now. So, while the Dzire will tackle the speed breakers of different sizes with ease, sharp gradient changes may require you to double check the front overhang before committing to them. For more details on Maruti Suzuki Dzire check Controlenter

Unlike the front design that imparts the Dzire a big-car appeal, the rear is usual business as far as compact car designs go. Nonetheless, it is a step forward as the boot is now better integrated into the C-pillar and doesn’t look like an afterthought. It’s stubby with the bumper hardly extending any mass beyond the boot lid. The arc-shaped lip is Ciaz-like now. Importantly, the Dzire now not only looks proportionate but is also pleasing to the eye

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Comfort

Coming to the interiors, here’s where a lot of major revisions lie. The dashboard gets an all-new design and even though some elements are derived from the new Swift, Maruti has again made a lot of changes to things like the instrument cluster, AC vents, steering wheel, inlays on the dashboard, etc. There is a dual tone black and beige colour theme and the top variants come with wood inserts on the dashboard and steering wheel. The wooden inserts are provided with an intent of making the car feel premium but honestly, it could have been done in a better way and the quality also feels a bit inferior. However, the overall fit and finish of the insides feel much better than the second generation Dzire

Due to the rear doors being wider, ingress and egress have become easier. The seats are large and comfortable and the cushioning is also soft but under thigh support felt a bit lacking. The driver’s seat gets height adjustment while the steering gets tilt adjustment and hence you can find yourself a good driving position with decent visibility all around. Space at the rear is decent but at the front, the footwell eats into space slightly. The roofline limits the headroom at the rear a bit. The boot is nicely shaped and has good cargo carrying capacity, it is larger by 60-litres now.

The third generation Maruti Dzire gets a good equipment list. You get automatic climate control and the cooling performance from the AC is very good and the rear AC vents are a big plus. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable and folding. The audio system is the same one that is also offered on the Baleno. The 7-inch touchscreen has a good response and it gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too. Connectivity is seamless and the sound quality from the speakers is very good. Apart from that, the Dzire also gets keyless go with push button start and unlock sensors on the door

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Gearbox

Underpinned by the HEARTECT platform, the Dzire is lighter than its predecessor by 85 kg for the petrol version and 105 kg for the diesel version. This makes a considerable difference to the performance and efficiency of the vehicle. Despite the usage of the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines, the lighter Dzire now feels a bit more zippier to drive. Fuel-efficiency has gone up by 6.8% to 28.4 kmpl, making it the country’s most fuel-efficient car. The petrol version’s figures too have improved by 5.5% to 22 kmpl. Power output for the petrol engine is 81 hp with 113 Nm of torque, while the diesel mill develops 73 hp and 190 Nm of torque. The extra torque of the diesel motor makes it more fun to drive and there is a hint of lag that disappears once the tacho needle swings past about 1,600 rpm. The petrol motor, on the other hand, becomes lively past 2,500 rpm but drivability in both engines is good and doesn’t call for frequent gear shifts.

Talking of gear shifts, the Dzire comes with a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) or the AGS as the company calls it. The best part is that AMT is available with both petrol and diesel engines and is available in middle and top variants. The manual transmissions offer smooth shifts and the well-tuned ratios complement the engine’s easy-to-drive nature. The AMT on the Dzire turned out to be quite a surprise as it shifted quicker than expected. Even the diesel AMT shifts at a reasonably well speed and the petrol is a tad quicker with a kickdown response being good for both. One can also take control of the gears manually, in case a quicker shift is required in case of overtaking on highways. NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) level is significantly lower in the new Dzire compared to the older model. This is a result of the new platform that improves NVH efficiency and the pendulum joints further help the cause. Overall, the Dzire offers good performance, easy drivability, class-leading fuel efficiency and the option of an automatic in both diesel and petrol versions, taking it a step ahead of the competition.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Safety

The 2017 Maruti Dzire now comes with dual front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX mounts on all variants which is a very positive move. The car is lighter than before since it is based on the new HEARTACT platform. Talking about service, Maruti Suzuki has the best sales and after-sales network in India and the Dzire can be serviced in any nook and corner of the country since the company has a service centre almost everywhere.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Driving

Maruit Dzire has softened this car a bit and ride quality is noticeably better than the outgoing car. There are fewer body movements over bad sections of road and aren’t as jarring any more. It soaks up road imperfections in a very mature manner and feels nice and absorbent. The petrol’s steering is light and, with a tight 4.8m turning radius, it’s effortless to twirl around in the city. The return to centre is weak though, like many modern Marutis, and with all that lightness, it doesn’t feel as well connected to the road as before; there’s a bit of vagueness here. However, the diesel feels a bit heavier and more connected in company;

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Price in Ahmedabad

Maruti Suzuki Dzire On Road Price is 6,31,922/- and Ex-showroom Price is 5,69,310/- in Ahmedabad. Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes in 6 colours, namely Oxford Blue,Magna Gray,Gallant Red,Sherwood Brown,Silky Silver,Pearl Arctic White. Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with FWD with 1197 CC Displacement and 4 Cylinders with Maximum Power 82 bhp@6000 rpm and Peak Torque 113 Nm@4200 rpm DRIVE TRAIN FWD and reaches 100 KMPH at N/A . Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with Manual Transmission with FWD .

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Summing Up

Well, if you can spend that average of about Rs 50,000 on the automatic (AMT) or as Maruti Suzuki calls it, AGS – Auto Gear Shift, you should most certainly consider it. The good thing about the new Dzire is the fact that you can get the AMT option in the top of the line Z+ variant too which in turn means you can get a fully loaded car with the AMT option. The Ignis, which also has the AMT gearbox never offered that option. This means that you get the likes of the LED daytime running lights and LED headlamps along with the large touchscreen infotainment system while still enjoying the ease of the AMT gearbox. If I had to choose then, my pick would be the diesel engine with the AMT gearbox simply because of a combination of being a fun to drive car and yet offering phenomenal fuel economy.

H1B Renewal Process

Employment Visa

On January 17, 2017, the Federal Register implemented a final rule that heavily affected many working visas including the H-1B. In particular, it made an impact on visa holders who are attempting to apply for an H-1B extension while working toward lawful permanent resident status (green card).

When applying for an employment-based green card, your sponsoring employer must file an I-140 petition. For H1B Sponsorship Process Visit UT Evaluators.

Before the final rule, the regulations mandated that the I-140 needed to be submitted 365 days before the end of the 6-year maximum stay. Instead, the Federal Register has amended this to say that the petition must be filed at least 365 days before the beginning of your exemption.

H1B Renewal Process:

There are several ways that you can receive an H-1B extension after 3 years:

1-Year H-1B Extension

The foreign professional may apply for an H-1B extension past 6 years in one-year intervals. This can occur if the PERM petition or the I-140 was filed 365 days before the 6-year expiration date.

3-Year H-1B Extension

The foreign professional is able to apply for an H-1B visa extension status for up to 3 years if the applicant has an approved I-140 petition for the EB-1, EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based green card classifications and the immigrant visa number is unavailable.

This is usually granted so that beneficiaries do not have to return home while they wait for their priority dates to become current. Because some people must wait over a decade for an EB-3 immigrant visa number to become available, this H-1B extension can be very helpful. To know more info on H1B Visa visit Painpeters

“Recapture” Time

Many H-1B holders decide to travel internationally for extended periods of time. “Recapturing” that time spent abroad is one way to be granted an H-1B visa extension.

The foreign professional may request an H-1B extension if he/she traveled outside the United States during the validity of the visa. The applicant is obligated to submit U.S. entry and return dates, I-94 copies, and related stamps.

Here is an example: If Sue, an H-1B worker, visits her home country of Germany for a total of two months during her stay in the U.S., she may be eligible for an H-1B extension of two months past the normal 6-year limit provided that she can give evidence of her departure.
